EGU CELEBRATES DIVERSITY!

EGU has developed a number of initiatives to support the wider inclusion of those who have traditionally been under-represented in the geosciences, from fostering a community that welcomes diverse researchers to creating financial support opportunities that attempt to overcome systematic barriers to participation. As a bottom-up organisation, we also welcome new suggestions for ways we can support our community’s participation in science.

Engage Now

APPLY FOR FUNDING FOR A CONFERENCE OR TRAINING SCHOOL.

Stephen Mojzsis, Chair of the EGU Topical Events Committee, highlighted that the EGU Topical Events offer a variety of funding options for researchers looking to share their work with their communities through smaller, more focused events. These events provide opportunities for new ideas and methods to be exchanged. Researchers interested in organizing events in 2026 should review the requirements and benefits on the information pages and submit their proposals for training schools, conference series, or Galileo conferences. The application deadline is May 16, 2025. For further information, contact Stephen Mojzsis at topical-events@egu.eu.

HYDRODATA CHRONICLES - PART 6

We’re back to the HydroData Chronicles, where we enter into the exceptionally wonderful world—as massive as it is—of datasets about water phenomena, such as rivers and weather. Today, we focus on ΕStreams, a comprehensive dataset and catalogue of streamflow, hydro-climatic, and landscape data for Europe. This pioneering initiative fills the hydrological data availability gap, offering an invaluable resource for researchers, policymakers, and industries reliant on water systems alike.
