Join the Urban Geology Tour of Vienna on the 1st of May. Geoscientists Bernhard Salcher (University of Salzburg) and Stephanie Neuhuber (BOKU ) will guide us through Vienna and its surroundings, including a visit to the National Park Alte-Donau, Danube power plant, and the cemetery of Vienna. Our guide will bring us on a voyage between geomorphology, structural geology, renewable energy, and the history of Vienna.

Open to all Union members. This tour is by registration only

Come and join us to our second edition of the EGU themed scavenger hunt at the National History Museum of Vienna! The hunt will take place over 1h, you'll be divided in pairs and have the chance to visit for free the museum.
Meeting point: Entrance of the Natural History Museum. Place are limited (max 35 people), on first arrived-first served bases.

Join the public lecture co-organized by EGU at the Austrian Academy of Science. Geochemist Michael Kühn (past ERE Division President) will speak on the topic "Copied from Nature – Long-Term Safety: Carbon Dioxide and Highly Radioactive Waste in the Deep."

The hybrid lecture will be in German.

ERE Scientific Sessions & Great Debates

The conveners of the ERE division put together a fantastic programme in 28 ERE lead scientific sessions, 10 co-organised scientific sessions and 5 inter- and transdisciplinary sessions covering a great variety of topics across our 6 sub-programme groups! Check out the programme and enjoy the inspiring presentations and discussions!

Join the session ERE 3.1 for the ERE Division Outstanding ECS Award Lecture where Iman Rahimzadeh Kivi will present his work "Energy transition and the challenge of induced seismicity".

ERE co-organized the GDB4 Will a paradigm shift from on-shore to off-shore mining serve the future of humanity?

This GDB will be a lively event with spectacular filming and music, and a spread of panelists including marine biologists, geoscientists, philosophers, and lawyers -- all with their viewpoints on how we move forward for a sustainable future.

Arrive on time for the opening act!
