Registration fees

The following lists the registration fees applied to registrations ordered before 9 March 2020. Due to the cancellation of the physical conference, registration fees paid by bank transfer are fully reimbursed. For fees paid by credit card, a retransfer fee of 5% is charged to compensate the credit card fees for the original payments as well as for the retransfer. Registrants do not need to do anything to receive the reimbursement. Once the reimbursement is made, registrants will automatically receive an email that informs about the refund and has a credit note as attached PDF file.

Please note that these regulations are valid for registrations that have not been cancelled before 9 March 2020. Those with an individual cancellation before 9 March 2020 are handled according to the cancellation policy below.

(1) Participants having paid their annual membership fee for 2020 to the European Geosciences Union (EGU) and/or to the American Geophysical Union (AGU)/Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS)/Japan Geoscience Union (JpGU).
(*) Please provide proof of status and note that it may take up to two working days to change your status to "student", which is necessary for keeping the early registration rate. Please remember that the database status "student" is necessary in order to register at any of the student registration rates ("PhD student" and "student").
(**) Aged 60 or older and retired from full-time employment. Please note that it may take up to two working days to change your status to "emeritus", which is relevant for keeping the early registration rate.

Policy for cancellations by individuals (before 9 April 2020)

  • Registration fees will only be refunded if the notice of cancellation is received by Copernicus Meetings before 9 April 2020. The cancellation fee is €50.
  • Cancellations after 9 April 2020 and no-shows are not eligible for a refund.
  • There is no reason (including but not limited to illness, inability to travel, visa application rejection, travel restrictions, etc.) for registration cancellation that makes the above-mentioned deadline for cancellations inapplicable.
