Yagmur Derin is currently finishing her MSc in the Geological Engineering Department, Middle East Technical University under the supervision of Assist. Dr. Koray K. Yilmaz. Her research interests are in the fields of hydrology, surface runoff, remote sensing, GIS and hydroclimatology. Current research focuses on advancement of satellite-based precipitation products for hydrologic modeling. The awarded poster presented at the EGU 2013 summarizes results of recent work on evaluation of multiple satellite-based precipitation products using relatively dense rain gauge network within topographically complex region and proposing a bias adjustment algorithm for satellite-based precipitation products based on the “physiographic similarity” concept.
