Ping Fu is a PhD student at the department of physical geography and Quaternary geology in Stockholm University in Sweden under Professor Arjen Stroeven’s guidance. Her PhD project was uniquely designed to also include a two-year study at the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Purdue University in US under the guidance of Professor Jon Harbor. Her research focuses on glacial history and the impacts of climate changes on landscape evolution. Methods used include Geomorphological mapping, cosmogenic dating and glacial modeling. The poster at EGU General Assembly 2013 presented a comprehensive investigation of the plaeo glaciations of the Shaluli Shan area in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau, which provides robust reconstruction of the paleo glacial pattern of the study area and new insights to the glacial erosion pattern and hence the basal thermal regimes.
