I’m a PhD student at the Institute of Meteorology at the Freie Universitaet Berlin in Germany. In the major project MiKlip (www.fona-miklip.de) we work on a decadal climate prediction and evaluation system. Freva – the Freie Universitaet Evaluation System (freva.met.fu-berlin.de) was developed within this project. Freva opens new possibilities of central work infrastructures for projects, institutions, or universities within Earth system science. Finding new ways of pushing science forward and adding new technologies to our field applying ‘Earth and Space Science Informatics’ is always part of my focus. Therefore this new software development called ‘Freva’ will be also part of my PhD.
