ESurf indexed in the Web of Science

18 June 2015

We are pleased to announce that Earth Surface Dynamics (ESurf) has been accepted by Thomson Reuters to be indexed and abstracted in the Science Citation Index Expanded, the Journal Citation Reports, and Current Contents/Physical Chemical and Earth Sciences.

We would like to thank all of our authors, reviewers, associate editors, and Copernicus Publications for all their hard work, which has made ESurf such a success in a short time.

ESurf’s inclusion – less than two years since our first paper was published – is an important acknowledgement of the scientific impact ESurf papers have made on the Earth surface research community. Looking forward, the successful indexing with Thomson Reuters also means we will be eligible for an Impact Factor in the near future. From other indexes (e.g. CrossRef and Google Scholar) we can see that ESurf papers are being cited frequently – and our website traffic shows that we have had over 35,000 downloads of ESurf and ESurfD PDFs in the last two years.

We hope this good news encourages more scientists and researchers working in the field of Earth surface dynamics to submit their findings to ESurf – where they can benefit from fast publication times, transparent review processes, article level metrics and, – importantly – open access to all articles (with no charges until 2016!).

Please note that it may take several weeks or even months until Thomson Reuters has processed all XML metadata following the data transfer from Copernicus Publications.
