How to get a European postdoctoral grant
This webinar will support and encourage researchers looking to apply for European postdoctoral grants to advance their academic careers. In this session, delivered by Sílvia Poblador (MSCA at CREAF) and Elsa Abs (ERC at LSCE), participants will learn about their individual experiences applying for European grants, the common personal doubts and hurdles they encountered, practical tips for proposal writing, and alternative pathways if the application is not successful.
The webinar will include time for questions and answers after the presentation.
Conveners: Rebecca Varney, Silvia Poblador, Elsa Abs.
Speakers:
Elsa Abs - Elsa is an ECS representative of the Biogeosciences Division and a CNRS researcher at the Laboratory for Sciences of Climate and Environment (LSCE) near Paris, where they lead the ERC Starting Grant project GAMEchange. They use mathematical models at different scales to understand how climate change impacts soil microbes and how microbial adaptation, in turn, modifies biogeochemical cycling and climate.
Sílvia Poblador - Sílvia is a PostDoc at the University of Barcelona working on soil biogeochemistry and greenhouse emission as part of the ALFAwetlands project from the UB (2023-2025), and now work with the Centre de Recerca Ecològica i Aplicacions Forestals with a MSCA fellowship taking enhanced silicate weathering to the wetlands agroecosystems,
The webinar included time for questions and answers after the presentation.
